About Sweet by Gigi
Gigi, short for Brigitte, little nick name giving to me by my husband of 25 years now. I am French, and I arrived in the US on a very hot day of August in Mississippi. Why Mississippi I hear you say, well that’s a long story but to make it shorter, we were supposed to stay for only a semester and here we are 26 years later.

I would have so many stories and adventures to tell, but I am here to talk about my passion: baking. My love for cooking and baking has been pursuing me all my life. Starting with my mother who was an excellent cook. I have spent all my childhood eating delicious meals, fresh from the garden and our farm. My mom was not so much of a baker, even if she was making many desserts, they were the very traditional french kind but still, really delicious.

My passion for baking came later on in life when I got the chance to be partner of a great adventure when I opened a French bakery in Roswell, Douceur de France. I was lucky to work beside a great pastry chef and learned a lot by his side and got the bug for making those delicious and pretty pastries. After few years at Douceur de France, and a couple of years in France, I was back to Roswell, and was wondering what I was going to do next.

My sweet girls being teenagers, and with more time in my hands, I decided to start baking, just for fun and for the pleasure of my family and close friends. But more I was baking, and more I was loving it. After my husband, my girls and many friends would compliment me a lot about my food, taking classes became an evidence for me, which I did for about 2 years. And little by little, the need to make it a business just took shape and I could not be happier of my choice.

As I always tell my kids, when your passion becomes your work, then your life is a repetition of happy mornings, doing what you love for a living, is a true gift.

Sweet by Gigi, is a home business, handmade pastries and goodies, made with love and only with the best ingredients. I don’t only love making those delicious treats, but I also enjoy very much staging them, as a buffet for example, or dessert table for graduation parties or birthdays.
